Our Favorite French Workbooks

We added French classes to our oldest’s school day this year and it has been a success!  We found a great workbook to help keep us on track and we want to share a review with you today.”Complete French Smart – Ultimate Workbook for Mastering French” covers grammar, reading, vocabulary building and usage, all in a fun and captivating way.  No dry or repetitive worksheets here!

We have used workbooks in this series from Popular Book Company in the past and love that they are Canada’s leading workbook publisher and have been in Canada for over 25 years. Tried and true, accounts for so much!

The workbook is filled with sweet, colorful illustrations and beautiful text on every page.  We love that the lessons keep things fresh by adding in fun crosswords, short stories and word searches.

So far, our daughter has covered everything from the days of the week, months of the year, numbers 1-30, family and school life and the time of day, with many more topics to go.  We love seeing her begin to speak and write in a new language with such ease!

We absolutely love that the concise instructions can be read in either English or French, enabling our daughter to confidently complete her lesson independently.  It has been so beautiful to watch her confidence grow as she tackles this new language.

We also love that each lesson builds on the last and slowly allows her to practice her new skills through a variety of activities.  At the end of every 8 units, there is a section for review to give us all chance to see what areas need a little work and where we are on track. Also, a bonus, for parents who may not be French speaking, there is an Answer Key at the end of the book!

As an added perk, Little Sister had been caught looking over Big Sister’s work at the end of the day. 

Looks like we need to get her her own workbook!
